Director

John is an entrepreneur, keeping close watch on government news releases and market trends. With over 35 years’ experience providing audit, accounting, and income tax services to a wide range of clients, you can be assured that John’s leadership touches every client that comes through our door.

In addition to his own ventures, John was a Business and Industry delegate at the Alberta Growth Summit and has sat on the Board of Directors and the Audit Committees of a number of significant public companies. He also sits on the Board of two Venture Capital Companies based in Edmonton.

Quentin is our go-to guy for reaching items on the top shelf. His top 3 loves are his family, a sunny windless golf course and his passion for numbers.
He brings the third of these with him to the office every day and likes to get hands on with our clients businesses offering advice, support and knowledge on everything from buying or starting up to the day to day operations. When he is not at the office (which is rare) you can also find him getting involved in a variety of community organizations or at a board meeting for Elves Special Needs Society. With over 10 years of experience in public practice and a keen eye for detail you can relax knowing that Quentin has your best interests in mind every step of the way.

Shawn loves music almost as much as hockey and tries to take his wife to all the shows he can while finding time between the office and the many community activities he is involved in.

He found insurance to be a natural fit, and very quickly progressed to the portfolio management of large-scale businesses and clientele. Keiran has noted a growing need in the insurance industry for a more client centric approach, and thus his priority is to make the clients of HGA Insurance feel comfortable and confident in the advice they are receiving. Without a doubt you can rest assured knowing Keiran will provide you a personalized insurance solution, that will respond when you need it most

Agency Director

Mackenzie comes from a family of insurance professionals, so you could say she was raised in the industry. She started her career in June 2009 and ever since she has been continuously seeking new opportunities to grow her knowledge and implement modern ideas into the way she does business.

With her strong insurance background and experience, Mackenzie will provide you with friendly, easy to understand advice, that will equip you to make educated decisions about your insurance needs. She is very enthusiastic about the opportunities in store for HGA Insurance, and looks forward to working closely with her husband Keiran to bring those ideas to fruition.

Before joining the HGA Insurance team, Brandon ran a small Carpentry Business and has been around construction his whole life. He enjoys building things, but mostly solving problems and coming up with new solutions that aren’t always obvious upon first glance. He also enjoys reading books on subjects he is unfamiliar with and educating himself in as many fields as possible. He loves to learn new things from people and try to glean as much information from others as he can. When he isn’t in the office, if he’s not playing golf or hockey, he loves hanging around the house with his wife and 2 cats.

With a contagious smile and warm personality, Judith has the knack of making our entire office feel like a family! As our internal controller, she ensures that the inner-workings of the office are running smoothly.  When not in the office Judith can be found traveling with her husband and spending time with her shelties and children.

Bookkeeper

Tamara brings over 18 Years’ of experience to the HGA Skolney team. During that time, she has had the opportunity to work with a variety of different types of companies, large and small. For that reason, her ability to identify inconsistencies within a file is incredibly strong! Tamara is incredibly passionate about personal development & volunteering, and she can often be found somewhere in our great outdoors hiking or kayaking.

Rachel is the official organizational guru of the office. She thrives in everything systematic and loves to figure out the processes that work for HGA. Rachel joined our team in January of 2016 and has been filling our office with lovely smells of incense ever since! When she’s not in the office, Rachel loves spending time with her family. One of their favourite locations is out in the woods camping!

She’s currently pursuing her Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting at MacEwan, but her initial start was in Science thinking that chemistry was what her future held. We’re happy to report that she’s much happier in accounting! She is readily involved in the community, volunteering with the youth group at her church twice a week. When she’s not here or in school, you can find her dreaming about her future canine companion or playing some basketball.
